Brett Kubasiak

Brett was a little boy who liked country music, fishing, Chicago sports teams, building things, and being just like his dad. He thought he played for the Chicago Bulls. He would practice on his homemade court, memorize the starting line up, and run out under the spotlight being held by his sisters.

Brett graduated from pre-school and was looking forward to starting kindergarten in the fall. Tragically, on July 5, 1997 Brett was hit by a car and died one week later. If Brett were here today, he would be 18 years old and about to finish his senior year at Genoa-Kingston High School.

Brett’s sister Lauren created this race in his memory. The Brett'sRun Genoa Days 5K will raise funds to create and maintain the Brett Kubasiak Scholarship Fund. Graduating members of the Genoa-Kingston School District will qualify to receive funds from the account.

Brett was the son of Tom and Cathy and little brother of Lauren and Kaitlin Kubasiak.
